Yes I am sure it works. Here is rpi-connect showing the desktop of a headless Pi5, using Firefox browser on Windows 11 PC.

Thanks, I've tried once again couple of times, and at least for me, the pattern looks like if pi from start powered up as headless, so the rpi connect with display works, otherwise, if monitor is disconnected while pi already ON, so rpi connect works only in remote shell mode.
