On two occasions recently there have been replies to a thread, which on the surface appear to be intended as answers to the OPs question, but later the poster says that it was intended as joke.

Both of these posts could be read as genuine answers to the OPs question. I find it hard to understand what is gained by these types of posts. Who is the audience for the "joke"? It can come across as a form of elitism. Perhaps if posters feel the need to reply as a joke it would be better to make it clear that the post is a joke.
Just my opinion [/RANT].
