Networking and servers • Having trouble configuring IP addresses and setting up a Static IP

Hello. So, this has never happened before but as soon as I finally got port forwarding set up with my Raspberry Pi's Apache Web Server, it started changing IP addresses. I'd read something about this earlier and that I needed a DDNS or something like that, or I needed to assign a static IP address, but I'm not really sure what either of those are and AI isn't really being helpful either. So I looked up how to change the IP address and I did but it wasn't that much longer that it changed right back to something different. So I tried setting a static IP (following Microsoft Copilot's instructions) and eventually made my way to dhcpcd.conf (or something like that) and it told me to change some things which I didn't really understand, and I didn't want to permanently mess up anything. Now, my IP address is usually something like 192.168.0.37 or 192.168.0.40 but all of the sudden it was 127.0.0.1 . I didn't really understand why and the only change I've really made is connecting the Pi to ethernet, since for some reason SSH or something wasn't working wirelessly (I have a lot of problems that I have no clue how to fix). SOOO, I just need help on how to assign a static IP address to my Raspberry Pi and really understand everything that's going on, and if you might know why it's not working wirelessly, that would be a great help too.
Thanks!

Sorry for writing a 5 paragraph essay. Also, if you need any more information just ask. :)
