Yes, that sounds like the best solution!The hot air from cooler is blowing, the fan inlet is sucking, you need a physical barrier to stop/reduce the air going round in circles inside the case.. A cylinder around the inlet to the fan would be ideal, forcing it to suck air from the holes you have created above.
I ended up using a mesh case to allow air to escape easier, I could probably improve that further by putting a chimney on the inlet.
I will try to make a simple barrier and attach it underneath the lid. I hope that the hot air at the top of the lid will then no longer reach the fan so easily.
I added the last hole for this lid and didn't get a better result. All 3 positions where the heatsink got hot now have their own hole.

I think with the barrier the result will be very good

If anyone has ideas for the positions of the holes, just write to me. I still have cases without holes to test.
