General discussion • Re: 5GHz access point Android not detected on PI5

My Pi 4 and 5 work with Samsung smartphones. I do not remember any big problems. They just detect. Except for one metal case that I used on a Pi for a while. The metal case blocked most of the WiFi signal with 5 GHz suffering the most. Samsung and the Pi OS have different terminology for security and things. Mine is working with WPA2 PSK.

Does your Samsung software offer exactly the same settings for 2.4 and 5? Are there any differences like the hidden network setting?

If not, is there a difference in the settings at the Pi end? I do not remember any in mine.

The 5 GHz range is less than 2.4 GHz but still reaches through a wall into the next room. So long as there is no metal in the wall.
