Im having a similar issue, no display output to my 7" Official Touch Display
I am using this cable to attach my Pi 5 to my 7": https://www.pishop.ca/product/display-c ... erry-pi-5/

I tried adding
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-dsi-7inch,dsi0
and also tried
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-dsi-7inch,dsi1
to /boot/firmware/config.txt
Am I supposed to be able to plug the ribbon cable directly from my Pi5 DSI port to my display, or do I need something in between, like:
Compute Module DSI Display Adapter, 22PIN To 15PIN
