Same for me, crashes but much sooner and harder, and not just latest versions. Yours may last longer and not crash so severely because you have a Pi 400 with 4 GB of RAM whereas I'm using a Pi 4B with just 1 GB.

It might be worth checking what swap space you have.

You could try establishing an SSH or Telnet remote connection as that may give access even when the desktop has stopped responding, which might allow you to execute 'dmesg' and undertake diagnostics. You may be able to execute a reboot or shutdown which is safer than a hard and brutal power-pull. For me, the network goes down when Firefox does so that's not an option.

Chromium has worked just fine to the extent I have used that. No crashes, no having to pull the power to recover.
