This issue has been fixed; the fixed version of the relevant packages will be released in the next few days.
It's a rounding error in the rescaling of the desktop picture, whereby sometimes the target size is too small by 1 pixel. Nothing to do with touch displays per se; the maths just means that it shows up more commonly on smaller resolution displays.
