Hello everyone,
I'm new to the SBC and Python communities and am working on creating a low-cost birdhouse monitoring system using a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W and the Camera Module 2 NOIR. I began by installing the latest version of Raspberry Pi OS (Bookworm) on the Pi Zero 2 W. However, I've encountered random SSH connection drops, and the WiFi on Raspberry Pi OS stops working unpredictably.
Interestingly, when I install Ubuntu Server on the Pi Zero 2 W, the WiFi functions flawlessly without any SSH connection drops.
I intend to use MediaMTX with WebRTC for the video stream, but MediaMTX requires Raspberry Pi OS. Additionally, rpiCamera is not available on Ubuntu, which results in subpar performance with MediaMTX on Ubuntu 24.04. Currently, I have set up the video stream using MotionEye on the Pi Zero 2 W running Ubuntu, but it consumes a significant amount of RAM and the video feed is choppy.
Could someone assist me in achieving a stable WiFi connection using Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm on the Pi Zero 2 W? Has anyone else experienced similar issues?
Thank you.
