I am currently experiencing issues trying to mount an external USB SSD to my Pi5 8GB to use as separate storage and not to boot from.
I am unable to get the drive to show on the Pi at all. When using lsusb nothing shows and I'm not sure why at this point after trying different things.
For context, I have the official 27W PD PSU and official USB3 to SATA OTG cable. Things I have tried with no luck:

- Different SATA SSDs which work with the adapter on different machines.
A separate NVME SSD in an enclosure.
Fresh install of Raspberry Pi OS Lite 64bit on the SD Card.
Formatting the SSD's as NTFS and also EXT4.
Tried both USB3.0 ports and both USB2.0 ports.
