whats the power of the fans
the pins are 3v or 5v, it'll say on the fan label 3v3 or 5v5
in theory it should just work, the fans just won't run at full speed as it would be sharing the load.
if it gets any power at all the fans will turn, it just might not be fast enough to get decent cooling but will circulate the air.
