Just tried it on my Zero 2 W using the RPiOS installable version of speedtest-cli and that worked for me.

Clean install of Raspberry Pi OS Lite Legacy 64-bit using Raspberry Pi Imager (v1.8.4)
Updated with sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade -y (followed by a reboot)

Code:

Ran the test multiple times without error.

Try that version on your system.
