Which midi library are you trying to use? I could find a couple: one that hasn't been updated in 10 years (so has a slim-to-none chance of working with Processing 4) and one that's more current but claims to be a thin wrapper on top of the Java MIDI subsystem.Have now gone away, sadly the use of the MIDI library in Processing still produces an null pointer error.
What monitor are you using? There are some resolutions that Raspberry Pi 4 and 5s just don't like (I think it's 1366x768 in particular). Some monitors don't report the correct HDMI parameters, and also the Raspberry Pi doesn't know about every possible monitor.On the plus side I can once again get sound out of my monitor, but on the minus side I can no longer get the whole of the desktop to fit on the monitor.
If the desktop and monitor don't match, there's a chance that the Processing window size limitation arises from that. I'd fix that before rejigging your Processing sketch.
