It is basically a plastic clip/clamp on the SBC side. It might be possible to "snap in" a new piece to the existing connector. I would try that before going the unsolder/resolder route on the entire connector.
I just installed a NVME BASE on the weekend. Those connectors are tiny, and don't play well with old eyes, big hands and loss of sensitivity due to carpal tunnel. The one on the NVME base was a cam style clamp which was easier to manipulate. Was very pleasantly surprised when the drive came up first boot.
