16mA is the usual quoted max
Wrong on two counts:

1. That bandied about figure is for when the RPi is powered up and the pin is configured as an output.

2. The 16 mA figure immediately above is not a "no damage below this current" parameter. It is the maximun drive strength for GPIO pins for BCM2835, BCM2836, BCM2837 and RP3A0-based products. See the tables at https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentati ... ifications
