Troubleshooting • Re: Power button in one Raspberry Pi 5 is misbehaving

A bit off topic, so I hope it's not too annoying as it won't solve the problem

I have PI 4 and wondered about having a power switch, but what good does it do in some situations.

Sure it can disconnect the power but unless you have a Pi screen attached and powered by the Pi I would still have to power of the screen, so two actions.

Then there is the idea that the button will bring up a menu
1. Press button
2. Select menu

or as I have on the desktop software buttons for Reboot and Off so no need to use the menu and hence the button isn't required as when I want to power off I have a switch to power of the Pi and the LG TV in one go.

Just thought this may help with any inconvenience you have in powering off. So in my case I don't now want a button to bring up a menu etc.
