Raspberry Pi 3B+
I have an old NOOBS installation with Kodi 18.9 in Libreelec 9.2.8 working for years on an old SVGA monitor (1280x1024) mainly to watch videos from a PC in my home network but also Youtube. Now Youtube quitted to work on this machine so before addressing this problem (Youtube watching on Kodi requires quite some fiddling) I wanted to update the system to something newer. On another 32GB SD-card I first tried the latest Libreelec 11.0.6. No problem with installation and booting. But from the beginning every 10-15 seconds the display goes black for a few seconds and comes back and so on forever. Then I tried the latest stable Raspberry Pi desktop 64bit without software. Same problem.
Then I put back the ancient NOOBS SD-card - everything works fine again, dsiplay is stable. So the problem is not in the Raspberry Pi or monitor hardware.
Any suggestion about how to solve the problem to get a newer system without flashing display which can get also Youtube to work?
32-bit OS?
