Thought I'd bring it over to general as I think it goes beyond just the target application I am working with. I noticed with the benchmark application I linked above, I am getting better sequential write speed performance on a modestly overlocked Pi4 vs that of a stock Pi5; I would expect the Pi5 to perform similar if NOT better, this behaviour is repeatable and I have tested with various cables, ssd's and alternating the USB 3.0 port I am using.
What is going on? why is the USB 3.0 performance fall so short? How can we get closer to saturating the full bandwidth of the USB 3.0 link?
