I'm having a problem: 'image-backup' has failed twice to make a backup of my RPi 5 that is using an NVME card. Here's the scenario:
...
I'm stumped - any advice?
Without some way to reproduce your problem, I'm at a loss to know what to suggest.
Does the problem also occur if running Bookworm from an SD card or USB device on the Raspberry Pi 5 (eliminating the NVMe device)?
I understand. It's not even consistent on my system; e.g. 'image-backup' ran successfully earlier today on this system.
I've not noticed it w/the SD card, but have done only a couple of backups; i.e. not enough trials.

You may recall this was the "problem system" I described in an earlier post. A couple of things I'll mention in regard to that:
1. I finally gave up on the "franken-image" (trying to "glue" an apparently good root partition to a "stock" boot partition), and installed from scratch.
2. HOWEVER: The install followed a procedure I found on one of that Geerling guy's blogs, and called for using the 'rpi-clone' utility to copy my SD card to the NVME card.

I'm going to put the RPi5 under the same backup regimen I use for the other PIs; i.e. run a nightly update. I'll let you know how that goes.
