I think you are mixing up FTp and SMB for simple file sharing. As previous posters have mentioned, use something like Filezilla on Windows to connect with SFTP (you can also install Filezilla server under linux to control FTP). Browsers removed FTP support a couple of years ago.
If you want to just be able to see a drive, then using SMB is a much easier way to do it on a local network. There is a really nice guide here - and that would just let you map the shared folder as a mapped drive in Windows
