Camera board • imx462 flickering/banding

Hello,

my efforts to use an IMX462 sensor module as an astro camera led me to a new question. Maybe someone will know or it can be clarified whether it is a hardware problem:

The IMX462 sensor module (inno-maker) shows in every picture a kind of banding. This banding patern is different in every frame. I can see it in video frames (flickering), short exposures and long exposures (every gain, every exposure length). This banding is particularly noticeable in the dark with longer exposure. Its not there with RPI HQ-Cam or RPI GS-Cam.

I took this image with lense cap on to show the problem:

libcamera-still -o "/home/pi/banding1.jpg" --shutter 6000000 --gain 22 --awbgains 1,1 --immediate --raw -n

The file banding1_bright.jpg was brightened up with Gimp to show the patern.

What i testet:

Install with:
- Kernel Bullseye (fresh install)
- Kernel Bookworm (fresh install)
- dtoverlay=imx290,clock-frequency=74250000
- dtoverlay=imx462,clock-frequency=74250000
- Rebuilding libcamera and rpicam as described in the documentation.

Hardware:
- RPI4 8GB
- PRI4 2GB
- Two differnt short (15cm) camera cables (and a long one 1m)
- Three different power supplies (3A, 3A, 2,4A)
- Second inno-maker module (same type)

If anyone has an idea I would be very happy! Perhaps its a problem of the inno-maker imx462 board itself?

Regards,
Mat

P.S. sorry for third party hardware question :?
