Just bought my first RP4B to run LMS for my SB radio. Used the Raspberry Pi Imager (RPI) to burn a micro SD card with the 64 bit OS, specifically designed for headless operation. Going headless seemed to make sense for the single LMS application I wanted. The initial boot went fine. I was able to Ping the RP4B at the IP address shown on my network router and gained SSH access via the terminal on my MacBook Pro. I then burned the 64 bit Pi Core Player (PCP) software to the same micro SD card holding the OS, also using RPI and the "Customization" button. Yes, I got the warning about overwriting the existing files on the SD card, but believed burning the .IMG file for the PCP wouldn't do that. Upon (attempting) rebooting the RP4B, I can no longer Ping the known host--getting the "unknown host" response. Neither can I get remote access via the previously successful SSH command. So I'm guessing the boot failed. Now, my MacBook Finder reads the micro SD drive as "PCP_Boot." Before loading the PCP software, it showed a different name. How can I correct this problem? Once fixed, am I crazy to attempt to setup the PCP headless? I haven't discovered any YouTube videos proclaiming how easy it is. Thanks for any help.
