Networking and servers • Re: ssh not working with the new raspberry pi lite os? can someone explain me what to do?

Well i have enabled it in the rpi-imager baking settings, but when i try to connect to my raspberry using cmd and using the right i.p. and right host name it will actually find the device and tell me to input a password and we go back to the same problem, if the username and password is not even defined by the baking settings how am i supposed to log in?
(I've already tried sudo passwd btw)
What is the "cmd" that you are using? What sort of computer are you SSHing from? Windows, MacOS, Linux ...?

If you have "tried sudo passwd", then I am assuming you can log in to the Raspberry Pi, perhaps using a monitor and keyboard. If so try the following command on the raspberry pi.

Code:

ssh username@localhost
Replace "username" with the actually username that you set for the Raspberry Pi. It should ask you for your password and log you in.
