I want to achieve the perfect balance between sacrificing die lifetime for higher performance, but not overvolting it too high to make the die fail before other components in the system.
In effect Raspberry Pi have already done this for you - it's the standard clocking/voltages and parameters for the DVFS.
Also, does more heat always directly translate to lower lifespan in the temperature range [20,75] degrees C?
Yes, at the higher end of the range. But probably not a huge difference.
