Did you look at those games? They are 8bit retro games that run smoothly on a 1 MHz cpu with 64k of Ram. AFAIK the zero 1 has 700 MHz and 500 MB.A computer for games costs $2,160.85. A Zero costs $8.94.The games run at 0.3 fps![]()
Your comparison to RISC OS is useful.
I can only assume that the full OS needs more ram and then starts swapping virtual memory on the sd card. A debian derivative seems prone to run out of 512MB. I was only pointing out that the download section should mention that it may run really slow on the zero 1.
The hardware costs tho have nothing to do with RISC OS. And considering the legacy of ARM that is historically tied to RISC, I guess that OS has its place on the Pi.
There was also Doom installed on that RISC distro btw. which ran smoothly. Besides, I would assume all the retro emulators also run most games smoothly.
So your point isn't really beneficial. You say "for 8.94 you can't expect pacman to run with more than 1 fps". All I say is: don't use the full OS on 512 MB, even if they say it works.
