Raspberry Pi OS • Scroll touch selects text instead

Hey, I have some raspberry pi 5’s and lately I’ve been using 3.5:1 lcd screen along from df robot.

The issue I have been having is when I fresh install raspberry os with latest OS, boot into the OS, the touch screen works as intended. I can put it in vertical mode through display manager, and the display manager correctly identifies the touch screen from the touch drop down.

After I restart, it no longer can scroll on pages such as browser or text edit. Instead, the single finger gesture highlights the text as I swipe up or down. All other touch seems normal. It’s aligned correctly for vertical usage, normal taps on buttons and other OS parts works just fine. Everything but scrolling.

One reason this is an issue is because I am working on a web app that displays various information for a quick glance, some of which will need the ability to scroll.

Am I missing a critical part? Any ideas on why it works after first boot, but then switches to text selecting instead of scrolling after second boot?

LCD screen is 14inch 3.5:1 10 touch point screen which you can view the specs here: https://www.dfrobot.com/product-2873.html
