Katak255, yes that is true. Disabling one PLL will about 1 milliamp.

But it is not easy to switch to a single PLL directly from micropython.
You would need to make changes to the SDK code and build your own micropython version.

I recently read the code for machine.lightsleep carefully and saw it turns off both PLL's and clocks everything directly from the crystal oscillator.
That the main reason it gets power consumption so low (about 1.5 milli-amps).
