Once upon a time I was a teaching assistant at Indiana University and we used a homegrown gradebook program written in Chez Scheme. Since then my opinion of Scheme has improved much more than I had ever thought possible.Considering that this is run on "banana" and from Emacs, and that the result is 700+ trillion, my hat is off to Chez Scheme.Code:
> (time2 (lambda () (day19 "input.txt")))304705756472327497#<time-duration 1.483221209>
I'm a sorry to admit that I still can't understand Scheme very well. When
maybe he was correct. It is practically impossible to teach good programming to students that have had a prior exposure to BASIC
