Beginners • Power Management HAT to serve as UPS using a 20000mah Lithium Battery

Hi all,

Previously I had talked about using a 20000 mah power bank with pass through charging to serve as a portable power source that can also be charged using a walled power socket without disruption to the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B. However, the power bank itself cannot be turned off properly even after the Raspberry has been safely shutdown is a nagging issue . After some thoughts, I have decided to switch to Power Management HAT instead.

Below are some of my choices:
1. Power Management HAT by Waveshare, possibly to be used as an UPS:

2. Raspberry Pi 4B/3B+/3B X708 V2.0 UPS HAT & Power Management Board with Cooling Fan by Geekworm:

3. PiJuice HAT – A Portable Power Platform For Every Raspberry Pi:

However, I have some questions I need to clear up before I can decide to make purchase of the Power Management HATs, please assist me with any information you know regarding the following:
a. Can the Power Management HATs still provide power to the Raspberry even if the battery is not attached to the HAT?
b. Can I instead use a 20000 mah Lithium Ion battery? The PiJuice seems to limit at 10000 mah.
c. Can I still attach a Servo HAT after adding the Power Management HAT?
d. Following up the Servo HAT question, can the Power Management HAT also provide power to the Servo HAT and all the servos attached?

Many thanks for reading and assistance.
