I'm following this thread too as I have the same question.
I currently set POWER_OFF_ON_HALT=1 in the boot loader and monitor the RUN_PG pin as this lets me know if the CM4 has successfully powered down. It doesn't look like this is an option with the CM5 as the PWR_Button is pulled to 5V. Other than monitoring the 3.3V rail is there any other pin that can be used to determine if the CM5 has shutdown that would be backwards compatible with the CM4?
