Surely there's a way to add drivers and overlays, they must exist in the raspbian repo somewhere?
A hacky way to get the latest firmware/kernel on an old install is using rpi-update.
It is possible that would enable the display to be used, but I am not sure.
If you try this, then make sure you have a backup of your install.

Bullseye is not under active development. If it turns out there are issues with using the display on bullseye there will not be fixes.
The display is natively portrait, so to use it landscape will need configuration to rotate the display and touchscreen.
That will be well tested on bookworm, and untested on bullseye.
There has also been additional development on bookworm to handle double taps and long presses (handled as right clicks).

I'd strongly recommend upgrading to bookworm if you want to use this display.
If you want to stick with bullseye, that is fine, but sticking to hardware that were released when bullseye was current would be advisable.
