How are you connecting the wires to the GPS module itself - someone on the forum earlier had just poked wires into the holes so it did not work.
Also, have you done a loopback test on the pi6 - connect a dupont m-m cable on GPIO14 and 15 then use minicom (or other) to send/receive data at 9600?
