People still continue to conflate libgpiod userspace library and the kernel GPIO uAPI, including Pi engineers Image may be NSFW.You should check your facts before posting; gpiozero (at least when I last used it a few weeks ago) does not use libgpiod.
Clik here to view.

My earlier suggestions were for those using the old sysfs interface and looking for an interface with a similar feel, not those using gpiozero.
gpiozero is not a libgpiod problem. gpiozero uses lgpio by default now, and that uses the uAPI. No libgpiod in there.
I created a gpiozero PR for a gpiod pin factory, that does use libgpiod, but there was no interest in it, so I canned it.
It is also possible to create a pin factory that uses the new libgpiod dbus daemon, that would provide less restrictive pin access, but no one is doing that or even planning to AFAIAA.
