Advanced users • Re: libgpiod version [SOLVED]

You should check your facts before posting; gpiozero (at least when I last used it a few weeks ago) does not use libgpiod.
People still continue to conflate libgpiod userspace library and the kernel GPIO uAPI, including Pi engineers Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
.

My earlier suggestions were for those using the old sysfs interface and looking for an interface with a similar feel, not those using gpiozero.
gpiozero is not a libgpiod problem. gpiozero uses lgpio by default now, and that uses the uAPI. No libgpiod in there.

I created a gpiozero PR for a gpiod pin factory, that does use libgpiod, but there was no interest in it, so I canned it.
It is also possible to create a pin factory that uses the new libgpiod dbus daemon, that would provide less restrictive pin access, but no one is doing that or even planning to AFAIAA.
