Troubleshooting • Re: Pi4 solid red and green led

Update:

Just had another 4B from the same lot/batch that I had installed at the beginning of 2023 die.

Same solid red and green.
Same high pitched squeal when power is turned on with nothing connected to the board but power.
Well....
Same everything.

I'm convinced. This was definitely a bad batch of boards.
I bought them all at the same time. It was just shortly after the "Great Pi Pandemic" ended and supply started picking back up in 2023.

Something makes me think that first batch that came off the lines when manufacturing started picking back up had defects. Maybe the PCB itself but, my personal prime suspect is the BCM2711.

I don't think the PCB would make "angry sounds" but... a defective chip. Hmmm... Maybe?

Especially since they all are slowly dying off one by one.
Which possibly indicate something is messing up the clock (aka frequency) which might just be the "angry sound" it's making?

BUT... maybe it is the PCB???
Maybe a short or defect causing a spike, damaging the BCM2711??

Giving the a life expectancy of a year and 2 or 3 months.
All dying in the exact same manner.
Who knows.
I know I don't.

Like I said. At the board level, I am less than a newb. A pre-newb (if there is such a thing).
So this is just me speculating. Nothing more.

Anyway. Will report back as soon as the remaining 2 or 3 die off. Which, based on the others, should be with in the next month.
