If you install one of the low over head web servers and a PHP server and get creative with both html and php you will be able to create user triggered web pages that through PHP calls to real programs that access and return your sensor output as html pages.
Yep! Sounds impossible but break it down, research using/writing PHP and it's only a bit trickier than writing bash scripts.
The only repeating problem being PHP server I used tends to barf totally at the slightest typo or missing something or other so persevere with it and you'll get there.
