The command looks OK to me. Possibly the "16" in the mode should be "12", but it won't make any difference in practice. (The sensor doesn't have 16 bit modes, so far as I know, so you'll probably get a 12 bit mode.)
Might you be able to capture a DNG file and save it somewhere where we can take a look? Just add "-r" to your command. It should save a "test.dng" file. Out of interest, does your "test.jpg" show recognisable images?
