Normally, a magnetic reed door sensor is just a simple switch, so it should be connected to a GPIO input pin and ground.
That expansion board seems to have a 40 pin GPIO header so use that.
The pi gets data from the RS485 board over its SPI interface or via an RS485 to USB adapter.
The reed switch could also be tested directly on the pi GPIO, no RS485 board needed.
