That's certainly a quality assembly with a lovely finish but I would say the stepped joints and contrasting edge colour of the side panels ruins its looks completely, the plastic bezel of the display and plastic knob more so. It's in the eye of the beholder I suppose.
I might be more enthused if I actually liked the idea of wooden cases, or perhaps less so. I'm not against using wood as a means to an end, but as a statement of elegance and form it's hard to hit the mark on aesthetics IMO; that's where real aptitude, talent and skill, having the tools, is needed.
I personally find products which wrap a plastic or metal face with wood, real or fake, aesthetically pleasing. A design many DAB radios and similar have followed, eg https://p.globalsources.com/IMAGES/PDT/ ... n-Case.jpg and most Hi-Fi racks of old.
But please don't ask me to expound on 'finger jointed' things like Brambles and similar - I'm staggered to find those in articles on "most beautiful cases". Maybe it's just me.
