Troubleshooting • Re: HDD detected in USB2 but not USB3

Hello,

I stopped working on this subject until today, and I am back.

Unfortunately, the problem is not solved, and it is becoming even thicker. Here is what I observe when connecting a HDD to USB (tested with one 2"1/2 HDD and two 3"1/4 HDD, all HDDs compatible USB3)

To an USB2 plug :
Connecting the 2"1/2 HDD powered from USB : the HDD is NOT powered
Connecting a 3"1/4 HDD powered from its own power supply : the HDD is detected and self mounted

To an USB3 plug :
Connecting the 2"1/2 HDD powered from USB : the HDD is powered, is NOT auto-mounted, but I can mount it with the mount instruction in a terminal.
Connecting a 3"1/4 HDD powered from its own power supply : in the best case nothing happens (the HDD is not even detected, no way to mount it), and in the worst case the PI5 crashes.

The PI5 is powered with the 27W Raspberry power supply.

Any help will be welcome.
