You can use SD Card Copier to copy the current card in the Pi 4 to a card for the Pi 5. When you are happy with the card in the 5, switch off Thunderbird in the 4.

I usually make image copies and backups from a Pi 4 in my notebook because it is faster. In the Pi 5, a USB 3 microSD card adaptor is as fast as my notebook.

When you get an NVMe adaptor for the Pi 5, you can make an image copy from the card to the SSD. Everything works when I do it. After a copy, you can change the OS id and generate new SSH keys, etc, if you need a unique setup.

For running multiple Thunderbirds in parallel, you can set the email server to retain mail for 100 days and have both Thunderbirds receiving the email. You can then have a the Pi 4 as a backup. Lots of options depending on what you want to do with the Pi 4 afterwards. :D
