On those two plate heatsink cases, the bottom plate does nothing for cooling and could be replaced by wood or plastic. The example photograph shows the top heatsink against the TV with the TV metal mount plate acting as the main heatsink. I would remove the bottom plate and use a couple of layers of electrical insulation tape.
