W.r.t. "I have disabled Wayland ..." exactly how? The "correct way" is via raspi-config (terminal mode not desktop) - switch from wayland to X11,I'm trying to connect with a remote desktop to a Pi 4 with bookworm.
I saw this locked thread
From a Windows Client, I am able to SSH into the Pi with Putty.
I have disabled Wayland (per notes from realvnc) and enabled VNC Server in raspi-config.
TightVNC viewer 2.8.75 fails with "no security types supported"
RealVNC VNCviewer 7.11 times out after trying to connect for a minute.
Windows Remote Desktop (RDP) client displays an X desktop with a login. After providing Pi credentials, the session silently closes with no errors.
Are there any VNC viewer or RDP clients that will work with Pi with bookworm?
exit and reboot. Run raspi-config again and re-enable VNC and again reboot when you should get the VNC icon on the task bar etc.
FWIW, some screenshots are here: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_p ... Pi2Pi.html
Or leave Wayland active and use TigerVNC viewer: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_p ... _on_the_P5
Or, maybe, try out the new Raspberry Pi Connect approach: https://www.raspberrypi.com/news/raspberry-pi-connect/
