I had the same problem on RPI 3 running Kali Linux 2024.1
I ended up modifying /etc/network/interfaces.d/eth0 as follows:

Misleading and potentially unhelpful.


This thread has "Raspberry Pi OS 64bit bookworm" in its title.

RasPiOS uses Network Manager to configure its networking by default.


Your 'recipe' for a third-party OS may well not work with RasPiOS.
