Havent been checking this thread lately.
But, ironically, the initial advice to reinstall... did the trick ! At first my thought process was "Hell no, I need this system back". But after installing Bookworm and copying all the settings from the broken one .. it didn't feel like drudgery!
The Pi is now working faster and without years-old leftovers of Python2, Ruby, or NodeJS scattered across....![:)]( "Smile")
