Thanks for the response. I'm not a "superuser", but have tried various permissions approaches over the last couple of years, without any success. Since I can just plug in a card with Ubuntu and LibreOffice installed and every thing works correctly, I keep thinking someone will see what Ubuntu does and fix the RPi image.
LibeOffice works OK on various X86 linux distributions as well as on RPi Ubuntu. It's also OK on MacOS and Windows. The issue seems to occur only with LibreOffice installed on RPiOS. I can edit and save TextEdit files without issue, and can also copy files to and from the NAS with File Manager, so that tells me that it's not likely to be a general permissions issue.
I did notice that Ubuntu LibreOffice indicates it's editing a Remote File even though I haven't set up any Remote Files in LibreOffice. If I need to set up Remote Files on RPiOS LiberOffice, perhaps someone can provide some instructions, since I have struck out trying to do this.
Thanks again.
