There is a gotcha in the Raspberry Pi Connect software, specifically the part that runs on a Raspberry Pi to allow you to connect to it remotely. The Connect software allows you to block remote connections by clicking on the Connect panel applet icon, then clicking the 'Accept screen sharing' menu item. The tick is removed from beside that menu item, and the bottom half of the icon becomes greyed out, indicating Connect will not accept remote connections. So far, so good. The gotcha is that if you reboot your Pi, that block is silently removed - Connect will happily accept remote connections again. This is potentially a security risk, although on the face of it, a minor one.
I don't think it is a good idea to silently re-enable remote connections in this way. My preferred solution would be to simply not do this. However, I don't expect Raspberry Pi to change this behaviour, which is by design. So I would suggest that instead Raspberry Pi add an informational dialog that comes up after the user disables remote connections using this part of the UI, with a message like 'Remote connections to Connect have been disabled. WARNING: Remote connections will automatically be re-enabled when this computer is restarted, or you log out then back in again.' I would also suggest having a checkbutton on this dialog, defaulted to disabled/off, with a label like 'don't show this message again'. That way, the user is made aware of this gotcha at least once, and it is then up to them whether they see the warning on subsequent occasions.
