Heh Cognoscenti!
Does anyone have an idea of why the first time I set up a backup of my Nextcloud to run overnight the SSD ended up becoming non-functional?
Hardware:
Pi 4, 4MB RAM booting from a WD Blue 500GB SSD
Software:
Ubuntu server
Docker
Nextcloud
Nginx Proxy Manager
Changes before running backup:
Mounted an SSD running on another Pi 4 on the same network
Set Nextcloud backup app to do a complete backup
State of SSD that was attached to the index Pi 4:
Pi 4 would not boot up
SSD drive could not be detected by another Pi 4 when it was plugged in
Plugged in to Windows 10 there was a "connection" bleep, a pause for approx 30 seconds, then Win10 said device was not detected. During this time nothing extra showed up on the Win10 Device Manager.
I have set up another WD SSD and it is booting up the index Pi 4 as per normal.
It would be helpful to get some ideas about what might have happened. I am keen to be backing up my Nextcloud data, but not if it fries the SSD each time!
Thank you in advance for your advice.
