I can see that. All MMAL is doing is pretty much sending a message into the "void" and it does the rest of the job, all you do is plug the module in. All I can say is that the person who wrote it mus have definitely had an absolute understanding of what's going on in the VPU. That kind of sucks from the programmer/engineer standoint. I wanted to avoid I2C for the resistor part due to low power implementation I am trying to make. And if I get raw bytes and start sending them bit by bit that's going to cut my framerate by the factor or 8.
